The Challenge
From the prospect of VoIP services provider the most important/mission-critical part of the business is establishing the correct billing routine based on selecting the right land-line tariff over time and generating own tariff plans that would bring value to the operator’s business.
The challenge was to develop a core information system for Voice over IP business that would manage mission-critical tasks and also provide ultimate connectivity in terms of data export/import.
The Solution
We delivered flexible .NET-based solution (client and server parts) for the administration of billing procedures that dynamically reads land-line operators’ tariffs and automatically routes customers’ calls over the proper network.
For better scalability and performance the following archtecture was used. The client part directly interacts with users, provides Graphic User Interfaces (GUIs), accepts user input, and communicates with the server.
The server part acts as the core of the system, stores all relevant data, provides critical business logic, and communicates with clients. The server part is in turn broken up in web server, application server and database server. The web server provides GUIs accessible using Internet browsers and communicates with the application server. The application server implements all business logic, security policies, and other requirements, communicates with the database server. The database server stores all system information.
