The Challenge
RVR Limited, a privately owned company incorporated in Ireland, is are one of the leading companies in the HVAC sector. RVR has been continuously involved in the manufacture and distribution of heating equipment since 1975.
Following its motto, to serve all customers in the best possible manner, RVR decided to challenge a common belief that it is impossible to effectively sell complex heating equipment solutions online. Indeed, the range of parameters that should be considered while purchasing even the most basic HVAC system is colossal.
Technology-wise the challenge was to deliver the back-end system powerful enough to handle numerous parameters for each item in stock, and at the same time to provide intuitive, easy to use front-end that would guide a customer through the process of on-line purchase.
The Solution
AIT Infotech developed flexible e-commerce ASP .NET based web application with all functionality you would expect from online shop: shopping carts, secure integration with payment gateways, content management system.
However, the core of AIT Infotech solution was the online product designer. This web application allowed RVR to create numerous combinations of parameters within a well structured environment. Product designer was then integrated with custom developed Product Selection Wizard that allowed RVR's online visitors to easily select the best solution for their needs within an intuitive step by step process.
